McCain's 3 Month Comeback, Hannity's an artard

McCain claims he's making a comeback. This would be a perfectly fine statement if he hadn't been saying it for the last two and half monthes, only to watch the polls split further and further away from him and his GOP agenda. Refer to a few posts below if you don't know what I'm talking about (Obama targeting McCain's home state).

I'd also like to take the time to mention that this blog has been extremely focused on the presidential race; thus giving me nothing to talk about when it's over. For this reason, let me give you a little more of my opinion. Sean Hannity is seriously one of the biggest douchebags I have ever had the displeasure of listening to on both Fox News and talk radio. No, I am not one of those democrats who outright refuse to watch Fox News or listen to conservative media. I like to give both sides of the story a chance, but Mr. Hannity just seems to be completely stuck in a vicious cycle of arrogance and inviting guests on to his show only to not let them speak. When he does, by chance, let them speak, and they make a valid argument, he has a terrible habit of switching the subject.

Give me a BREAK.

In it to win it

McCain's negative media coverage

McCain: Obama will say anything to win

I have a huge problem with McCain saying this, especially since it's coming from a presidential candidate whose last month and a half of campaigning has consisted of unfounded slander and negative advertising. This is probably the most ridiculous thing I have heard out of McCain's mouth so far, due to the fact that McCain will say anything to win, not Obama.

Couldn't help myself...

...I try and make it a habit of only post once per day, (sometimes less, I apologize) but this just had to be shared.

Hold Fast Hope

This is, in all honesty, my favorite politically related picture. Simply put, the photographer has captured what I believe to be the tenacity and fierce nature of Sen. Joe Biden. With this single photo you can tell just how much this man is willing to give for his beliefs. "In word, or thought, or deed," eh?

Misnamed Ballots...

Stuff like this just pisses me off, and it happens all the time:

TROY, New York - Who is running for president? In an upstate New York county, hundreds of voters have been sent absentee ballots in which they could vote for “Barack Osama.”

The absentee ballots sent to voters in Rensselaer County identified the two presidential candidates as “Barack Osama” and “John McCain.” In the United States, the best-known individual named Osama is Osama bin Laden, leader of the al Qaida terrorist group behind the 2001 attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center in New York City.

The typographical terror error was first reported by the Times Union of Albany.

The county executive lineup:

Name Party Term
William J. Murphy Republican January 1, 1974 – December 31, 1985
John L. Buono Republican January 1, 1986 – May, 1995
Henry F. Zwack Republican May, 1995 – May 13, 2001
Kathleen M. Jimino Republican May, 2001 –

Flood the Market

My biggest problem since the debates has been how the candidates portray each other. Yes, I know that's how you win an election, but I think some fact checking should be in order. Most of the viewers that watch programs like the debates don't take the time to go out and check if what a candidate said is true, and therefore the winner is determined by who accused the other of worse. Check out my top headline today and tell me what you can spot.

As it all comes crashing down

I did a lot of thinking last night about our economy and the future of this country. I argue a lot with some of my right wing family members and friends about the reasons behind the stock market crash, and just how far its impact will go. Many of them believe that bad mortgages and bad mortgages alone are to blame for these troubling times. I agree with this, somewhat, seeing as these bad mortgages are responsible for a fraction of banking troubles. These friends and family members seem to ignore the fact that we are spending over $10 billion a month in Iraq. Over the last 5 years, since the invasion of Iraq, we have spent over $600 billion on a war some people believe we never should have gotten into. Our economy is being destroyed, and because of it so are the markets around the world.
